About Me

About Me

I am a mother of two beautiful energetic boys, a wife, a lover of all furry animals, and a proud Registered Nurse. I am passionate about the health education, the health of the public, addressing the social determinants of health, and ensuring the health and safety of my community. I love health education and I dream of becoming a Senior Public Health Educator one day.

My nursing career, began as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) after completing my first nursing program in Vidalia, Georgia. As an LPN, I developed prioritizing, nursing fundamental, and leadership skills working in gerontology. Desiring to provide a higher level of care to patients, I began working at Strong Memorial Hospital in 1998. I loved caring for medical-surgical patients on 5-1200 and 6-1200. As an LPN I felt that I needed a better understanding of nursing care. This desire led me to the Registered Nursing program at Finger Lakes Community College. While working full-time as an LPN, I finished my Associates in Nursing (ASN) degree. As a new graduate RN, my childhood dream of becoming a Labor and Delivery Nurse was fulfilled. My love for mothers and babies was the catalyst for my completion of a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Keuka College. As a BSN, RN I quickly understood the link between community health and healthy birth outcomes. With a true desire to improve the health of my community, a began my career as a Public Health Nurse and a Chronic Disease Coordinator for Ontario County Public Health. I am currently a Health Educator for Ontario County Public Health. I have received awards certifications and am able to teach a vast array of evidence-based programs.
